13-year-old American Jordan Romero from California has a lot of guts. He’s now on his way to the summit of Mount Everest, beginning his 29-thousand foot trip on Sunday.

13歲美國人喬丹羅梅爾來自加州，有很大的勇氣。他現在正往峰頂前進，在星期日開始他的2萬9千英呎行走旅程。

Currently a 16-year-old Nepali boy holds the record of being the world's youngest climber of Mount Everest.

目前一位尼泊爾16歲男孩，保持聖母峰最年輕攀登者的記錄。

But Romero is not after setting climbing records. He says it’s part of his goal to climb the highest mountains on all seven continents.

但是羅梅爾並不是要跟隨在後創記錄，他說這只是他要攀越七大洲所有最高峰的其中一項目標。

[Jordan Romeno, 13-years-old]:

"I was 9-years-old in a fourth grade in my school and I was walking down the hallway and I saw a painting on the wall of the Seven Summits and that's what made me want to climb them, I looked at it all the time and my father picked me up from the school one day and I said I want to climb these seven summits, and that's it. That's how I started."

"當我九歲國小四年級的時候，我走下門廊看到了牆上七大高峰的圖畫，這就是讓我想要爬山的原因。我總是注視著它，直到有一天我父親友來學校接我的時候，我告訴他我要爬這七座山。這就是我如何開始的。

Romero has already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and Mount McKinley in Alaska, among others.

這幾座高峰中，羅梅爾已經攀登過非洲的吉利馬札羅山，還有阿拉斯加的麥坎力山。

More than 4,000 climbers have reached the top of Mount Everest since it was first scaled in 1953.

就1953年有攀登紀錄以來，超過4000個登山者登上聖母峰頂。

In 1998, a Nepalese mountaineer broke the record for scaling Mount Everest in the shortest time, in 20 hours and 24 minutes.

在1998年，一個尼泊爾登山家破記錄在最短時間攀登聖母峰，用了20小時24分鐘。

So what’s next for the young adventurer? He says he wants to climb the highest mountains in all 50 states in the U.S.
