U.S. Ambassador Supports Human Rights

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime's

suppression has reached China's neighbors.

At CCP's request, the Vietnamese authorities

have arrested two Vietnamese citizens for sending

Falun Gong-related short-wave broadcast into China.

In his farewell speech, U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman

said the U.S. would always support human rights.

Voice of America (VOA) reported, 2 Vietnamese men,

Vu Duc Trung and Le Van Thanh were arrested for

broadcasting into China without applying for permission.

After the CCP regime wrote to Vietnamese authorities,

they were arrested. Their hearing will be held on April 8.

Reporters Without Borders's Asia director Benjamin Ismail

told VOA, running a station without the permission

is only an administrative mistake, not a crime.

They broadcasted programs of Sound of Hope Radio.

Sound of Hope (SOH) is based in California, U.S.

It has stations in many countries and regions.

It broadcasts through short-wave radio and the Internet,

telling the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong,

China's democracy movements and major world events.

It broadcasts 20 hours every day.

Zeng Yong, president of SOH issued a statement:

Both gentlemen took actions spontaneously

due to their infuriation of the persecution of Falun Gong

by the CCP regime that murdered innocent civilians.

They told the Chinese people the truth through

broadcasts, to stop the ongoing persecution.

They are legal actions of great compassion and

courage to protect human rights and uphold justice.

Zeng referred to Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone enjoys freedom of expression of their opinions.

It includes expressing views without being interrupted,

finding, receiving and spreading information and views

through the media, without limited by state boundaries.

Zeng: The broadcasts by Mr. Trung and Mr. Thanh

didn』t harm or negatively impact anyone in Vietnam.

They did it out of conscience and the performance

of their fundamental rights, conferred by

the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

Zeng said he had written to the Vietnamese authorities,

hoping that they won't obey the CCP's violations of

freedom of speech and persecution of human rights

and not following the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.

At the same time, the outgoing U.S. ambassador,

Jon Huntsman, in his farewell speech,

defended detained Chinese dissidents by CCP,

such as Ai Weiwei and Chen Guangcheng.

He gave the CCP authorities a meaningful warning:

They shouldn't expect his successor differ from him.

Huntsman cares about Chinese democratic movements.

The U.S. will always support human rights.

In terms of human rights and the Sino-U.S. relationship,

He criticized the government's suppression of the

media and ending the bilateral dialogue with the U.S.

cannot do much about mutual understanding.

Huntsman visited human rights lawyer Ni Yulan

in a hotel guarded by police.

He appeared at a “jasmine rally” site in Beijing.

His name soon was blocked by CCP's official media.

Regarding this, a White House spokesman ridiculed:

U.S. ambassador to China hasn't left yet,

but his name has disappeared in China.

The nominated future U.S. ambassador to China,

Gary Locke said in March in a congressional hearing

that he would consider going to house churches in

China. Locke is a Protestant Baptist Christian.

In the hearing, Republican Congressman Wolf stressed

that to support the persecuted and exiled dissidents,

the U.S. embassy in China should be a free island.
