Gao Zhisheng』s News Blackout Continues

Chinese human rights lawyer, Gao Zhisheng, had been subject

to a five-year probation, which ended on August 14.

His whereabouts is unknown;

no one has heard from him since then.

Gao』s daughter and other family members are very worried.

Gao』s daughter, Gege, wrote a letter to Wen Jiabao,

Premier of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),

asking for his help.

Her letter has generated sympathy and attention from the public.

Gege has not seen her father, Gao Zhisheng, for five years.

She is longing to see him, once again.

Although Gao』s five-year probation ended on August 14,

the whole family is still waiting for his return

and his whereabouts is unknown.

Feeling helpless, Gege wrote a letter to Wen Jiabao,

expressing her desire to see her father again.

On August 25, Hong Kong』s Apple Daily published

Gege』s letter to Wen Jiabao.

She said in the letter: “On August 15, 2006, an unfortunate

thing happened: Dad was taken away,

charged with “inciting subversion of state power” and

sentenced to a three-year and five-year probation.

During this period, the police literally lived in our home.

They stayed in the corridor and built a mini-police station

two yards from our window.

I had to be escorted to school in a police car.

Eventually, they stopped me from attending school.”

“In the beginning of 2009, a friend recommended that

my Mom leave my Dad and family,

to take me and my brother abroad to attend school.

Dad was arrested again in February 9, 2009.

In March 2010, he was interviewed by some U.S. media,

but he didn』t obtain his freedom.

Looking at his appearance, we could tell that

he underwent brutal torture, which really broke our hearts.

A few days after that, he went missing, again.”

“Today, August 15, is the last day of Dad』s five-year

probation and our whole family is waiting to see him, again.”

Gao Zhisheng』s daughter Gege:

“I didn』t put much thought into writing this letter,

it』s just that I really miss my Father,

I hope everyone knows the true story of my Father,

I hope Premier Wen Jiabao can look into this

and I hope we can see my Father again, very soon.”

Gege said in the letter that her brother』s birthday is coming

and that “He keeps asking us everyday to speak with Father.”

Gege is also going to attend a university

and wishes to talk with her father.

She hopes that Wen Jiabao can make her little wish come true.”

Gao Zhisheng』s wife Geng He said,

“Attending a university is a very important step in one』s life.

Gege can』t make up her mind and

she wants to discuss the matter with her Dad.”

Geng He: “It』s been two years since we came here to the U.S.

but because we still haven』t heard anything from Gao,

it feels like there』s something missing in our lives.

Our child is planning on attending a university,

thus, she has many concerns she wants to discuss with her Dad.”

Geng He also said, “Our children are growing up,

becoming more mature.

She is working very hard on Gao』s case and is very worried.

So she wrote a letter to Wen Jiabao, as Gao』s daughter,

hoping it would help reunite her family with her Dad.”

After reading Gege』s letter online,

it brought tears to people』s eyes.

Shouldn』t Premier Wen Jiabao be shedding some tears, too?

One netizen said: “The CCP always arranges to make people

『disappear,』 which cannot be tolerated.

The CCP is directly behind this incident.

If a nation has any human rights,

this kind of thing wouldn』t happen.”
