A New Year: CCP Government Suppresses Independent Candidates, Supporters Injured.

As the New Year began, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

took actions to suppress independent candidates.

On New Year's Eve, in Xinyu city, Jiangxi province, three

independent candidates, and supporters, were interrogated.

Subsequently, they were attacked by an unidentified mob

group, injuring a supporter from Guizhou.

Another two independent candidates in Chengdu were

kidnapped by local government, and are still missing.

Analysis points out that more suppression from the authorities,

makes it more likely people will rise up.

The suppression will lead more people to join the election.

New Year's Eve, Xinyu city, Zhejiang province.

Independent candidates Liu Ping, Wei Zhongping & Li Sihua,

along with supporters, gathered together in a hotel room.

The police interrogated them, and then a mob group entered

the room and attacked them.

A supporter from Guizhou had their fingers chopped.

Wei Zhongping, Xinyu independent candidate: "Netizens

came here to visit Liu Ping.

Many netizens are respecting her because she joined the

election, but many local people are scared.

They are afraid of the netizens' visit, afraid we chat together.

(On New Years Eve), a group of unknown people

asked us to leave, and then they used machete on us.”

Wei Zhongping pointed out that he, Liu Ping, Li Sihua had

been threatened, detained and placed under house arrest

numerous times by Xinyu authorities, simply because they

joined the election.

Wu Yuansu, a Wuhan lawyer and Wang Cheng, a Hangzhou

lawyer were attacked by Xinyu authority.

These lawyers helped them to stand for election.

Wei Zhongping states that it's their legal right to stand for

election as the People's Representatives.

They will not stop, but will continuing to stand for election.

Similar incidents occurred in Shuangliu county, Chengdu city.

Local officials tricked Xing Guohui, an independent candidate

to go back home to deal with an issue of house demolition.

But he was then arrested by local authorities in the afternoon

of January 1st.

This was just one day after Hu Jinqiong, another independent

candidate, had been arrested.

Li Zhaoxiu, an independent candidate of Jiujiang town,

Shuangliu county commented on the situation.

There is no information on the whereabouts of Xing Guohui

and Hu Jinqiong.

Their families went to the police office to ask for the release,

but failed.

Li Zhaoxiu: "The police inside told them to go to the village

government.

There, they should ask officials to represent them to the

higher levels.

We don't know why the authority arrested them. We were

under the authorities monitoring.”

There's over 70 independent candidates and petitioners

in Chengdu.

Almost all of them are either arrested, under house arrest

or monitored by the government.

Li Zhaoxiu said they discussed the future together,

and decided to push on until the end.

Sun Wenguang, a former professor of Shandong University

said, he was suppressed by authorities.

The authorities even took away his house, just because

he decided to stand for election.

Sun Wenguang: "The authority is violating the law.

Citizens have the right to elect and be elected.

Now it uses illegal solutions to limit personal freedom,

even summons candidates.”

Huang Qi, founder of “June 4th Tian Wang” commented on

why those citizens joined the election as candidates.

There's almost no result when they tried to maintain their

rights.

They felt that they have to work inside the government to

change the current situation. And the right of election is given in the law.

Huang Qi:"From the recent series of harsh suppressions,

no matter if it's in Chengdu or in other places.

Like Liu Ping from Jiangxi, Chenxi from Guizhou,

there's many independent candidates.

This series of suppressions gave me a feeling that

『the strong wind will be followed by heavy rain』.”

Huang Qi points out that the more pressure from the regime,

the more people feel they can't quit under this pressure.

He believes there'll be more people rising up soon.
