Media: Hu Jintao Branded Wang Lijun a Traitor

Hong Kong's English-language newspaper, South China

Morning Post, revealed that

during Saturday evening's two sessions (high-level CCP

internal meetings), Hu Jintao classified Wang Lijun a traitor.

Certain level officials in Chongqing were informed on

March 6th that Wang had betrayed the country.

Analysts believe that Wang』s downfall indicated, at least,

The “Chongqing Model” is done for politically.

It also means that Bo's political era has come to an end.

The South China Morning Post reported on March 7th that

a source close to the top political advisory body of

the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), revealed that the CCP

branded Wang as a “party and nation's traitor.”

Source claimed, on Saturday evening, in an internal briefing,

Hu Jintao told party members of Political Consultative Committee (PCC) that Wang committed treason.

Chongqing authority took a similar stance on March 6th,

saying all officials at certain levels were told that Wang had committed treason.

Writer Tie Liu told NTD that from his judgement,

this news may be true.

Tie Liu, “The South Morning Post normally reports the facts.

I think the act of Wang fleeing to the US consulate betrayed

the country and the party. What to say?

As he is in a high-level position, CCP's police chief and vice

ministerial-level cadres, for sure it is a political incident.

So why did he go (to the consulate)?

It's something to do with Bo Xilai.

Bo can not get away with it, neither can Huang Qifan.”

In a “two sessions” press conference last Friday,

PCC spokesman Zhao Qizheng criticised some media outlets.

He said their reports on the Wang incident are fake and

inaccurate.

Since the Wang incident on Feb.6th, the CCP has been in

disarray regarding how to speak with one voice.

They are struggling to come up with a plausible theory.

Zhang Jianguo, “Bo at least had responsibility politically, as

Wang works for him and Wang is a “Chongqing Model” hero.

Wang's downfall, due to treason or other issues, means the

political “Chongqing Model” is dead, at the very least.

This also means Bo's political era has come to an end.”

Classifying Wang's incident directly affects Bo Xilai.

Peng Yongyan, the assistant chairman of China Democracy

Committee (American Branch), believes the CCP won't disclose any details.

Peng Yongyan, “Anything directly relating to serious

problems of internal politics, including corruption and power struggle, will never be publicised.

Bo is a very ambitious person, both CCP's left and

right groups are all cautious of him.

I think the CCP would silence this issue internally, and allow

Bo a chance to voluntarily step down.

This is the best end for him; his political era will be over.”

Although Bo appeared on CCP's National Congress,

political observers analyse that

Bo has less of a chance to enter the Politburo

Standing Committee at the 18th Party Congress this autumn.

Tie Liu believes that Bo will have to take responsibility,

and may even have to be held criminally responsible.
