記者會Q&A:

Q1. Whenever you have a new album out, you have a strong image as a trendsetter. so whenever you work on a new album do you have that in mind or what is the most important thing you focus on when you work on a new album?

Being as unique as I can be when in the moment and as sure as I can be to the inspiration for that album.

Q2. The second question was when you first had your album out in 1994, which was close to 20 years ago, but before that the major genre of music around the world was rock, but after your first album came out it changed to R&B. So from your point of view how do you see the trend changing or market changing? do you think that your album played a big part in bringing that whole change?

I think music in general on a yearly basis, has an evolution. some of it comes as a result of a cultural experience. if you look at where music was based off how people dressed at the time, that kind of dictated the next step. it kind of went from rock to punk and before that it was something else. I do feel that I made a contribution, but not as much as i would have wanted which is why i continue to work on more albums so that throughout time i can influence music in its maturing.

Q3. I sure you have seen new artists around the world trying to imitate your style of music and your dance and your fashion and things like that so what do you have to say to people who are usher-wannabes. and from a senior point of view what kind of advice can you give to the juniors or the newcomers?

It\'s a compliment to be able to have a style which people admire, that you will become an inspiration as i said earlier. this is why i continue to do music and find ways to introduce my style. As i see other artists emulate why i have done its a compliment. I enjoy mentoring on many levels. being able to do it through music, and be positive inspiration for other artists and keeping the essence of entertainment alive. And also through wardrobe, singing and entertainment as far as dancing as well. it\'s just my contribution to music.

Q4. When you first came out you were 15 years old and still a teenager. and right now it has been about 20 years and you\'ve achieved a lot as a musician and entrepreneur and everything. is there a specific goal you would like to achieve more in the future?

Of course there is always more places to go and more things to do, which is part of the reason why i\'m so happy to be here. and thanks to hyundai i\'m actually able to be here for my korean fans. but it is being able to travel the entire world and perform for them, to be recognized for my music and my artistry worldwide.

Q5. There are a lot of artists around the world trying to succeed when they are a teenager, but when your relatively young, its quite easy for the recording company to actually take hold of that artist. but looking at you it seems that you have a very strong belief in your own colors(self) and also in your musical talents. so what kind of advice can you give to the new artist wannabes who are trying to start this act when they\'re still a teen?

The one thing i wolf advise each and every person who would want to be an artist is to be a student. You know um… in order to be good at anything you have to study you have to understand the trails that were blazed before your were there. I as an artist stand on the shoulders of giants that paved the way for me as an entertainer. and no matter how successful you become, always keep a student\'s mind if you want to be a master.
