And ahead of the June 4th anniversary, Chinese security officials quietly approached the families of some of those killed in the Tiananmen Square Massacre--offering to give private compensation to diffuse anger. But mothers of the victims said no. They want the Chinese Communist Party to formally discuss the issue and have an open public dialogue.

在六四週年之前，中國公安人員暗中與當時在天安門廣場遭大屠殺的受害者家屬連繫，提供私下賠償以化解憤怒。但受害者的母親們說不。他們希望中共正式討論這項議題，舉行公開對話。

The group, Tiananmen Mothers, published a letter on Tuesday through the organization Human Rights in China. The letter points out there were no discussions of the Chinese regime publicly admitting the massacre, nor of whether any investigations would be carried out.

天安門母親們的團體，週二透過在中國的人權組織發表公開信。信中指出，沒有中共政權公開承認大屠殺的討論，也沒有任何調查在進行。

Tiananmen Mothers has been campaigning for open dialogue with the Chinese regime about the massacre for more than a decade. Many of the members have experienced harassment and police surveillance.

天安門母親們為與中共政權公開對話談大屠殺，己從事活動超過十年。許多成員都經歷騷擾和警察的監視。
