“Friends Everywhere” for CCP?

2011 is the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party

(CCP). Its mouthpiece People』s Daily published

an article Why CCP Has Friends all over the World.

It says, “As we support the others』 revolutions,

they support our revolution in return.”

Who are these so-called “friends” of the CCP?

The article argues, “As we support others』 revolutions,

they support our revolution in return.

As the majority of the world population is suppressed,

of course the CCP has friends all over the world.

Chinese Interim government President Wu Fan said,

the CCP』s friends are the tyrants and oppressors

that abuse and deprive their own people.

The article was published to praise the CCP

prior to the CCP』s anniversary on July 1.

Wu Fan: Two issues need to be addressed:

First, what is the definition of the CCP』s “friends”?

Second, what is “all over the world”?

The people that persecute others, block news and info,

control and manipulate the media are CCP』s friends.

The Sudanese president has been wanted by the

International Criminal Court (ICC) since 2009.

However, he is visiting the CCP in Beijing.

The CCP particularly makes this sort of friends.

Sudanese President al-Bashir arrived in Beijing

on June 27. Many international human rights orgs

condemn the CCP for supporting al-Bashir.

"It's very political and Beijing is pursuing quite ruthlessly its interests over the general well-being of the Sudanese population. It is shielding Bashir who is facing very serious charges of genocide and war crimes at the international criminal courts by giving him this, sort of, royal treatment in Beijing. This is the wrong kind of signal."

Nicholas Bequelin (Human Rights Watch

Investigator stationed in China)

(sound track is in English)

Amnesty International says as Beijing welcomes him,

Beijing would become a shelter for war criminals.

ICC issued an arrest warrant for al-Bashir,

who has committed many accounts of killings

genocide and crimes against humanity.

Al-Bashir』s regime is accused by rights groups

for having killed 300,000 in Darfur, since 2003.

He is the first incumbent head of state wanted by ICC.

Wu Fan notes that CCP』s “all over the world”

is not the entire globe.

Wu Fan: All the friends CCP has made are dictators.

Such as, Cambodia, Vietnam, Cuba and North Korea.

These countries are small and poor,

and their governments abuse their own people.

Will CCP be able to become the U.S.』s friend? No.

Has CCP made friends with the E.U.? Not either.

The newest round of Sino-EU Human Rights Dialogue

that took place in Beijing on June 16, 2011.

Human rights groups urge EU to take measures

to turn the dialogue into a tool for progression.

In the Sino-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue

held in May, U.S. vice president Joe Biden expressed

his concerns over the oppressive acts in China,

including attacks on journalists, lawyers and bloggers

He said there is vigorous disagreement on human rights

between the U.S. and the communist authorities.

And no relationship can be built on a false foundation.
